Gilbert Turrieta is a legislative consultant in private practice since 1988.  Since that time, he has represented a spectrum of clients that range from governmental entities, Fortune 500 companies and charitable/nonprofit organizations.  Born and raised in El Paso, he graduated from Bel Air High School and then went to North Texas State University where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance and Accounting. 

Gilbert is actively involved in supporting civic interests and the arts.  He has served on the Board of the Austin Convention & Visitor Bureau, Star of Texas Fair & Rodeo and Rodeo Gala, Mexic-Arte Museum, Live Oak Theater, State Theatre, Paramount Theatre, and the Austin Theater Alliance.
