Dr. Annis is a retired anesthesiologist who was in full-time private practice at St. David’s Medical Center in Austin for 26 years and then joined the clinical faculty teaching anesthesia residents part-time at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire from 2003 to 2015. Joe was a member of the American Medical Association’s Board of Trustees from 2006 to 2014, and on the board of the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research from 2005 to 2014. 

While practicing anesthesia at St. David’s Medical Center Joe was president of the medical staff for two years and vice-chair of its Board of Directors from 1996 to 2003.
