Jim Friscia

President

Jim is retired from a professional career in media and educational technology, included working in radio, television, corporate training, online learning, and higher education teaching and administration. He has also served as a volunteer in the music community through writing, promotion, and producing concerts/events. Jim is passionate about bringing performers and audiences together. 

An experience bringing live music to a dying friend in hospice care sparked his interest in serving those nearing the end of life. A fortuitous connection in 2016 with Christine Albert and Swan Songs in Austin led to his involvement in bringing the organization's services to Portland.

Jim is a 30+ year resident of Portland and, in addition to Swan Songs, keeps busy as a board member of his neighborhood association, producing a neighborhood concert series every summer, and working for the Multnomah County Elections Division during state and national elections.
